Simplex Drill for August 1st

I will be having a quick “on air” meeting after the Wednesday night ARES net on .09 to discuss the simplex test, which will be at 10 am on the .09 with a roll call before we QSY to our assigned simplex frequency of 146.55 around 10:15.

I am planning a Simplex Drill for August 1st, starting at 10:00am on your local county repeater. Have a NCS in place for check ins by 9:45am on the repeater. Have NCS stay on the repeater until 11:15am, then he/she can close the Net. All check ins should stay on the local repeater until 10:15am for any unannounced changes before switching to your county assigned Simplex frequency. I encourage all the EC’s and/or AEC’s to try contacting all their neighboring counties for intercounty interoperability.

At 11:00am, I would like all EC’s/AEC’s to try contacting their neighboring counties local county repeaters for intercounty interoperability. The NCS, still monitoring their local repeaters, will log all the EC’s/AEC’s that contact them. That list is to be forwarded to me after the Nets close. (This test is in prelude for upcoming Skywarn changes.)

All operators are to keep a log of their contacts and send to your county EC.
