VE testing sessions
Steel City ARC volunteer examiners hold a session almost every month, the Thursday after the business meeting, at 7:00 PM in the clubhouse. All license classes are offered. Walk-ins are accepted, but please pre-register on HamStudy so we have your materials ready.

What to bring
- A government-issued photo ID.
- Your FCC Registration Number (FRN) and the email address on your FCC account. The FCC no longer accepts a Social Security number on the form.
- If you are upgrading: your current license or a copy, plus any CSCE from a previous session.
- Pencils and a basic calculator. Phones stay in your pocket.
- The exam fee set by the ARRL VEC, in cash or check. Check the HamStudy session page for the current amount.
Get your FRN first
Every applicant must have an FRN before the exam. It takes about five minutes at the FCC's CORES site: apps.fcc.gov/coresWeb. Bring the number with you.
